The USC Understanding America Study (UAS) is creating an in-depth portrayal of the people in the U.S.--their daily lives and their opinions. This 15,000 respondent Internet panel is yielding insights and information of significant value to policy makers, government agencies, non-profit organizations, opinion pollsters, social science researchers, corporations and more.  We have recently added a subset of Native American participants and continue to grow.

Participants use computers, tablets and/or smartphones to anonymously answer UAS surveys on a wide range of topics. These include everything from current events, such as elections or disaster response, to health, aging and finances.

The UAS combines interactive technologies with a diverse, engaged participant pool. The result: CESR researchers are collecting timely, fascinating and relevant data on the priorities, views, and needs of Americans.

Please see our data pages to download data sets, codebooks, and review fielded instruments. Our data is accessible to researchers at no cost.
