Pacific Conference for Development Economics at University of Southern California

The PacDev 2019 Conference will be held on Saturday, March 16 on the USC campus in Los Angeles.

The conference will begin with coffee at 8:00 am with a continental breakfast, then sessions will go from 8.30 am - 5:30 pm.  

Our lunch keynote will be given by Duncan Thomas of Duke University.

About the Event:

The Pacific Development Conference - PacDev - is one of the major annual conferences dedicated to development economics. The event brings together researchers and practitioners to present and discuss work that enhances our understanding of economic development, advances theoretical and empirical methods, and improves development interventions and policy.

Registration:  

Students: $60  Non-Students:  $140.  

Space is limited, and pre-registration is advised.  At the door we will only be able to accept cash or check with ID.

Discounted Hotel Rate:

We have procured a discounted hotel block at the USC Hotel (Radisson), conveniently located across the street from USC.  Use code "PACDEV GROUP" on or before 5pm March 2nd (JUST EXTENDED!) to get a rate of $229 plus taxes and fees or follow this link.  After March 2nd, there is a chance our rate may be honored if you call the hotel and mention our group.

  • Self-Pay Parking:  Royal Street Structure – USC campus Jefferson Blvd/Royal Street
    • Enter campus at the McClintock Avenue Entrance (C-2 on map) located at Jefferson Boulevard and McClintock Avenue. Inform the Gate Attendant that you are attending the PacDev Conference and would like to buy a pass ($12) for Royal Street Structure. After giving you the pass, the Attendant will direct you to turn left from kiosk and proceed down 34th street and turn left into the Royal Street Parking Structure (G-4 on map). After parking, follow the directional signs on 34th Street to conference location in Taper Hall of Humanities (E-4 on map)
