Tania Gutsche joined CESR in January 2013. Prior to USC, Tania was the Deputy Director of Marketing and Operations at the RAND Corporation, where she had worked since 2001. At RAND she also served as Panel Manager of the American Life Panel. At CESR she works on the management and financial operations of the department and maintains a research focus on survey methodology. Working on a number of Dr. Kapteyn’s projects, she is involved in the planning and recruitment efforts of building a new survey respondent group for USC.

Internet Interviewing and the HRS
This project aims at further integrating Internet interviewing into the tool box of the HRS and conducting a substantial number of new substantive experiments that will not only be specifically helpful to design the content of the HRS interviews but also have potential applications in other surveys.

This research project will use internet surveys, focus groups, cognitive interviews, and experiments to develop strategies that help people make better decisions related to economic well-being at older ages.
