Economist Juan Saavedra recently attended his book launch in Bogota, Colombia. President Juan Manuel Santos, featured on the left in the photo, spoke at the forum about his vision for Colombia to be the most educated nation in Latin America by 2025. The book, In Pursuit of Teaching Excellence: A Systemic Approach to Improve Education Quality in Colombia by Improving the Quality of the Teacher Workforce is written in Spanish with Sandra Garcia, Dario Maldonado, Guillermo Perry and Catherine Rodriguez. It has received press coverage in the written press in (among others) El Tiempo (e.g. here and here), El Espectador (e.g. here and here), and Semana (e.g. here).
